After our chat, I went to a lecture presentation at &#8220;my&#8221; quilt shop, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.quiltique.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Quiltique<\/a>. Guess what the lecture was about! Talk about perfect timing &#8212; we had a demonstration on making a cute little card case designed by <a href=\"https:\/\/picklepiedesigns.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pickle Pie <\/a>&#8212; unfortunately, the design isn&#8217;t available except as part of a collection\u00a0through Bernina dealers. However, as a bonus for the lecture, we were given this single design that we could personalize with an initial &#8212; lucky for me!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/IMG_1005.jpeg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-4052\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/IMG_1005.jpeg?resize=225%2C300&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"card case interior\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/IMG_1005.jpeg?resize=225%2C300&amp;ssl=1 225w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/IMG_1005.jpeg?resize=768%2C1024&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/IMG_1005.jpeg?w=960&amp;ssl=1 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a>I came right home and made it, making only one little change. It uses a strip of elastic as a closure, and none of us today thought that looked very nice. However, one of the ladies came up with the idea of covering the elastic with a casing, so that&#8217;s what I did. I love working with cork, too, and this is a combination of cork and cotton fabrics.
