So this photo shows the various things I&#8217;ve been practicing, and I&#8217;ll explain what each is.<\/p>\n<p>At the top left is the first sample I showed you, with the beaded piping. To its right is a sample with more beaded piping, but this time it&#8217;s used as a knife-edge finish. It still needs the facing to complete the back, but that will come later on.<\/p>\n<p>The bottom sample is the one I worked on today, and it includes three different flange techniques. The one on the right edge is a plain flange. Going around clockwise, the next two sides have mini-scalloped flanges, and the top edge has a ruffled flange. I &#8220;cheated&#8221; on this sample, in that I didn&#8217;t stitch the corners of the binding closed as I normally would, and I had to &#8220;fudge&#8221; the connection of the binding, since the sample is so small (4&#8243; square) that doing a diagonal seam was going to be an exercise in frustration. \ud83d\ude09 These new techniques are really fun, though they&#8217;re all very labor-intensive and time consuming.
