\"\"<\/a>I’m working very slowly on the Bethanne Nemesh class<\/a> I wrote about a little while ago. So this photo shows the various things I’ve been practicing, and I’ll explain what each is.<\/p>\n

At the top left is the first sample I showed you, with the beaded piping. To its right is a sample with more beaded piping, but this time it’s used as a knife-edge finish. It still needs the facing to complete the back, but that will come later on.<\/p>\n

The bottom sample is the one I worked on today, and it includes three different flange techniques. The one on the right edge is a plain flange. Going around clockwise, the next two sides have mini-scalloped flanges, and the top edge has a ruffled flange. I “cheated” on this sample, in that I didn’t stitch the corners of the binding closed as I normally would, and I had to “fudge” the connection of the binding, since the sample is so small (4″ square) that doing a diagonal seam was going to be an exercise in frustration. \ud83d\ude09 These new techniques are really fun, though they’re all very labor-intensive and time consuming.
