\"\"<\/a>… is the name of this little quilted piece. Obviously, that came from what’s printed on one of the panels, but it also refers to the age of all of the pictured objects. The panels and dotted setting fabrics are all linen, from l’Atelier d’Isabelle, and I found them at the Houston show last month. The finished quilt is only about 15″ square, so it didn’t take much time to make. That’s sort of a shame, since I loved working with this linen; it’s so soft and lovely!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Because I didn’t want to do much quilting in the printed panels, for fear of detracting from their aged effect, I also couldn’t do much quilting in the other areas. I stitched in the ditch on all of the seam lines, of course, to make sure everything stayed in place, but then I used rulers to create a very simple echoed curve in the border with some large freehand pebbles for interest and to offset all of the straight lines of the rest of the piece.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
