\"\"<\/a>We needed a new angel for the top of our Christmas tree since the previous one had to “retire” last year. I’ve had the design for this one<\/a> for over a year, and I’ve finally gotten around to making her. She’s all lace embroidery over organza; the fiddliest part was putting all of the sections together, which had to be done by hand.<\/p>\n

Making this angel took about thirteen hours of machine stitching (not counting the handwork or prep), with almost 217,000 stitches. For those who are familiar with the Bernina 790+, which is what I have, I used five full bobbins and part of a sixth one! That’s a lot<\/em> of thread!
