The International Quilt Festival was this past week, and I was lucky enough to get to go again. I love<\/strong><\/em> going to that show! It’s especially great because I get to spend time with my very good friend, as well as with others I don’t see at any other time. Did I mention that I love going? \ud83d\ude09 This year my sister was also able to go, but our schedules didn’t mesh too well. Still, we did get to see each other. \ud83d\ude42 I won’t post any photos of the show quilts, since they are posted in several other places online. However, they were — as always — spectacular and breathtakingly gorgeous!<\/p>\n

This year I only took one class, a machine quilting forum, where several teachers each gave a presentation and the class members rotated from one to another. It was pretty good, but of course none of the teachers had time to get into much detail; it’s the nature of that sort of class.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Did I shop? Oh, yes. \ud83d\ude09 These are some circle rulers from Lisa Calle’s booth; I really like her rulers, and the circles should be very useful.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>I also bought some gorgeous new threads, as well as a couple of pieces of fabric to use with them. I’m planning to couch the threads onto these fabrics in a future project.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>This photo shows an adorable pin cushion, a book I’d wanted by Gina Perkes, a new needle threader, and some cork fabric I will probably use in a bag sometime in the future.<\/p>\n

Finally, I bought this kit that I’d had no intention of getting. However, I really love New York Beauty blocks, and this setting was a bit different from the usual. In addition, the fabric choices — pastels — are quite unusual for this design. There are also some crystals to add to the finished quilt — when I finally get it finished. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n
