\"Can't<\/a>This time, my latest Christmas\u00a0quilt is\u00a0almost<\/em>\u00a0finished! I’ve completed the quilting, applied the piping and binding, made and attached a label and hanging sleeve. So what’s left? I’m seriously considering adding some crystals for some extra sparkle, which is something I’ve never done before. That step will have to wait, though, until I’ve learned how to do it and what tools I’ll need. Fortunately, that is precisely the lesson that’s scheduled for the next meeting of the group I attend! Isn’t that a lucky coincidence?<\/p>\n

In the meantime, I realize that it’s really difficult to see the quilting I did on the black background fabric, but remember that each of the photos can be enlarged by clicking on them; I hope they’ll get big enough to actually see something. I used a variety of freemotion background fillers in each block, some twice and some just once. My Bernina 780 with its great lighting and large harp space really made\u00a0this go smoothly!\u00a0Below\u00a0are the rows of trees:<\/p>\n

Row 1 (left to right): gentle swirls, uneven curved crosshatching, and spirals.<\/p>\n

Row 2: teardrops, echoed circles, leaf-like shapes<\/p>\n

Row 3: spirals, gentle swirls, pebbles<\/p>\n

Row 4: checkerboard, teardrops, echoed circles. In this last row, too, you may be able to\u00a0see a bit of how I did the borders with a combinations of circle-filled swags and straight lines.<\/p>\n
