\"D\u00fcrnstein,<\/a>We had only half a day in this picturesque\u00a0Austrian town, but it was beautiful! My husband and I decided not to take a guided tour this time, so\u00a0we wandered around on our own.<\/p>\n

This was the view as we left our boat. It was so peaceful — helped by the fact that ours wasn’t a 5,000-passenger ship, like so many ocean-going cruises are. As we walked along the path, we soon came to the town itself, and it was like something out of a fairytale!<\/p>\n

The buildings were subtly colorful and the streets narrow and cobbled.<\/p>\n

\"D\u00fcrnstein,<\/a>As we walked back to the boat, we passed several orchards with gorgeous<\/em> ripe apricots. How I wished I could have picked a basketful!<\/p>\n

\"D\u00fcrnstein,<\/a>One of the interesting things about river cruising is that there are limited docking areas. That means that it’s not unusual to have two — or even three! — boats lined up at a single dock. The people on the outer boats simply walk through the reception area of the inner boats to get to and from shore. Naturally, there is security, so no one can try to access the other areas of a boat\u00a0on which they aren’t passengers.<\/p>\n
