I&#8217;ve spent the weekend &#8220;playing&#8221; with this amazing machine, though I&#8217;ve yet to try the embroidery module and its functions. I&#8217;ve been exploring the settings (Bernina calls these newer machines &#8220;sewing computers&#8221; for good reason!),\u00a0as well as\u00a0the stitch quality and tension, etc.<\/p>\n<p>While I don&#8217;t yet have the acrylic insert that will allow me to set the machine down flush into my cabinet, I&#8217;ve been able to adjust everything so that the slide-on table gives me more surface area than the free-arm would have done alone. Still, it&#8217;s not perfectly flat (the extension table is curved), so I&#8217;m anxious for that insert to arrive.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/IMG_0319.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1966\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/IMG_0319-300x300.jpg?resize=300%2C300\" alt=\"IMG_0319\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/IMG_0319.jpg?resize=300%2C300&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/IMG_0319.jpg?resize=150%2C150&amp;ssl=1 150w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/IMG_0319.jpg?resize=1024%2C1024&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/IMG_0319.jpg?w=1440&amp;ssl=1 1440w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>In the meantime, I&#8217;ve decided to go ahead and get back to quilting the Drunkard&#8217;s Path that I&#8217;d had to put on hold during the busy holiday season. Having the extra inches under the arm of the machine is bliss! Since the part of the quilt that I&#8217;m working on now is more or less in the center, it really makes a <em>huge<\/em> difference. And\u00a0\u2014\u00a0like my 630 before this\u00a0\u2014\u00a0the 780 purrs like a kitten as I go along. The photo shows the feathers I&#8217;m putting into some larger open spaces; they tie into the feathers in the circular sections of the blocks.
