I don&#8217;t normally find kits interesting, but this time I was <i>so<\/i>&nbsp;tempted by that beautiful sample! To add to the temptation, I had a gift certificate burning a hole in my pocket, so I bought the kit and put it away until I&#8217;d finished a few of my other projects. We&#8217;ve all &#8220;stockpiled&#8221; projects, right? \ud83d\ude09 In case you like what you see, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.redroosterfabrics.com\/contentmgr\/showdetails.php\/id\/8858\" target=\"_blank\">pattern<\/a> was designed by June Pease, and the Sakura fabrics are by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.redroosterfabrics.com\/contentmgr\/showdetails.php\/id\/8712\" target=\"_blank\">Red Rooster<\/a>.<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<table cellpadding=\"0\" cellspacing=\"0\" style=\"float: left; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/IMG_0163.jpg\" style=\"clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" height=\"239\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/IMG_0163-300x224.jpg?resize=320%2C239\" width=\"320\" \/><\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: center;\">Machine appliqu\u00e9<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">Yesterday I decided it was time, so I began cutting all of the fabrics according to the instructions. After doing the cutting, the first step was to appliqu\u00e9 some circular pieces to a background, and so I&#8217;ve actually begun the stitching! Yay! I did the appliqu\u00e9 by machine, and I was <i>so <\/i>glad to have the magnifying lenses to attach in front of the needle, since seeing smoke-colored &#8220;invisible&#8221; thread on a black background is enough to give anyone a major headache otherwise.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<table cellpadding=\"0\" cellspacing=\"0\" style=\"float: right; margin-left: 1em; text-align: right;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/IMG_0165.jpg\" style=\"clear: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" height=\"239\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/IMG_0165-300x224.jpg?resize=320%2C239\" width=\"320\" \/><\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: center;\">Appliqu\u00e9ed blocks<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">These four blocks are the only ones that really need any special attention; everything else will be a matter of simply putting various cut pieces together to frame the central panel.
