Last week I posted that my six-year-old granddaughter had come over to begin working on a doll quilt. Today she came back to finish it. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

It’s pretty hot here right now (we’re hitting record high temperatures!), so G’s patience and attention span weren’t quite as unlimited as the last time. However, we persevered, and she finished her quilt, as you can see. \ud83d\ude00 As before, she did all of the stitching, while I did the rotary cutting and the pressing for safety’s sake. G was pretty excited to get to the quilting, which she did with the walking foot; that was the last step for this quilt. I’d decided to “birth” it, rather than adding binding, and so there was only a single row of quilting around the outer edge and a large X through the middle to hold things in place. The quilt turned out great, and G is justifiably quite proud of it. \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n

As soon as it was finished, I asked G if she wanted to take it to our LQS to show some of the people there, and she thought that was a pretty good plan, so off we went. At the store, G showed her quilt to several of the very nice people who work there, all of whom were outstandingly complimentary and encouraging to my granddaughter! They were so<\/i> nice to her!
