We&#8217;d never done that before, and we <i>loved<\/i>&nbsp;it! The scenery was gorgeous, the weather was beautiful, the company was great, and the wine delicious. &nbsp;This is the path to one of the wineries we visited, though not the first one. Didn&#8217;t I say it was gorgeous?<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0780-25281-2529.jpg\" style=\"clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0780-25281-2529.jpg?resize=320%2C200\" height=\"200\" width=\"320\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>Here is our group at the first place, which was the Cosentino winery. We&#8217;d just arrived and had our first sip. As a general rule, each couple shared a tasting, so we only had a sip or two each. That kept us from collapsing after just a single visit. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0781-25281-2529.jpg\" style=\"clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0781-25281-2529.jpg?resize=320%2C200\" height=\"200\" width=\"320\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>These are some of the huge barrels where the wine rests until it is bottled. We saw more and more of these in different wineries. I don&#8217;t think there will be a shortage of wine very soon!<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0807.jpg\" style=\"clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0807.jpg?resize=320%2C200\" height=\"200\" width=\"320\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>This wall of bottles was a focal point of the Charles Krug winery \u2014 very impressive!<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0802.jpg\" style=\"clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0802.jpg?resize=320%2C200\" height=\"200\" width=\"320\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>The Duckhorn winery lined up a row of glasses for our tasting; the others we visited stuck to one glass for the assorted varieties, merely reusing it.<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0813.jpg\" style=\"clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0813.jpg?resize=200%2C320\" height=\"320\" width=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>Our daughter&#8217;s shirt had a cutout in the back that was perfect for holding a wine glass. LOL!<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0800.jpg\" style=\"clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0800.jpg?resize=320%2C200\" height=\"200\" width=\"320\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>We stayed in a beautiful bed and breakfast, Fanny&#8217;s in Calistoga. The owner, Deanna, made the most incredible breakfasts!<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0037.jpg\" style=\"clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0037.jpg?resize=320%2C200\" height=\"200\" width=\"320\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>Deanna also had three adorable dogs, all rescues. This one was the newest addition, coming from a kill shelter, and he was just as affectionate as could be.<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0038.jpg\" style=\"clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0038.jpg?resize=200%2C320\" height=\"320\" width=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>The other two looked as though they might be brothers. This one likes to &#8220;talk&#8221;, and he also loved any attention we felt like giving him.<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0035.jpg\" style=\"clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0035.jpg?resize=320%2C200\" height=\"200\" width=\"320\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>This one was the &#8220;top dog&#8221; and loves to cuddle. As soon as my husband sat in an easy chair, he hopped aboard.<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t think, though, that the dogs were pests.
