Drat. Oh well.<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/cocker.jpg\" style=\"clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/cocker.jpg?resize=320%2C240\" height=\"240\" width=\"320\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>The &#8220;problem&#8221; was that the cocker puppy, which I simply&nbsp;<b>had<\/b> to use, of course, because of our own cocker, Bisou, was a horizontal block instead of the vertical blocks of the schnauzer and lab puppies.<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/IMG_0055.jpg\" style=\"clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/IMG_0055.jpg?resize=227%2C320\" height=\"320\" width=\"227\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>That lab was in memory of Dexter, a lab\/chow mix we used to have and who was the sweetest guy you could imagine.<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/IMG_0051.jpg\" style=\"clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/IMG_0051.jpg?resize=260%2C320\" height=\"320\" width=\"260\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>I used the schnauzer in order to have more than two dogs on the quilt; my sister had a schnauzer, and we also had friends with schnauzers, so that was logical choice. &nbsp;Once I had all of the blocks finished, they seemed to need a border, so I used the embroidered paw prints for that; they were in the <a href=\"http:\/\/lunchboxquilts.com\/shop\/product\/classic-mixed-mutts\/\" target=\"_blank\">pattern set<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>All of the quilting, including the straight lines, was done free motion to facilitate the frequent switching of directions that was necessary.
