A new tote

Last October one of my cousins was visiting Las Vegas during a tour she took; she lives in England, so this was a wonderful chance to get together, if only briefly. 🙂 Andrea brought me a lovely grouping of fabrics and a pattern for a tote bag. I had to  put everything away for a time while I caught up on other things I had waiting, but I’ve finally made the bag, thanks to Andrea’s generosity.

This bag is one of the reasons I posted the other day about silicon mats; I needed to use mine when I was quilting the outer panels onto some Soft and Stable.  The instructions called for batting, but the Soft and Stable gives bags a bit more stability, but it also tends to slide less than easily along the bed of the sewing machine. The finished bag, with its many outer pockets, will be perfect for hauling my supplies to meetings!
