Hi there! I know I’ve been MIA for a time, but I’ve been away on a lovely trip. We had very limited internet access, as we were usually at the bottom of a canyon or else in a lock with concrete sides. However, in the next few days I’ll try to get some photos up of the places I’ve been. 🙂
Today, though, I have something else to show. Our daughter’s brother-in-law and his wife — both wonderful people — have just had a baby! I’d already planned what I wanted to send them, and I’ve just finished the last stitches. Isn’t he adorable? I just love his smooshy face!
The most challenging part of embroidering this was getting him hooped, since he was designed for a 4″ x 4″ hoop, which isn’t available for the Bernina. I used my 5″ x 7″ hoop instead and had to wrestle a bit to accomplish it. In addition, the bulldog’s various appendages had to be kept out of the way, so I had to stitch more slowly than usual and hold things aside when the needle was getting too close. You might get a little idea of what I mean by looking at the photo to the right.
