“Holi” Moley!

I saw this Holi Ganesha pattern some time ago and fell in love with it. How could I resist? When I had the chance to get it and was finished with my previous quilt, I gave in to temptation. Not only is it gorgeous, but I do love elephants — how can anyone not love these majestic creatures? There’s a long way to go still before the quilt will be finished — one of the best parts of quilting is that there’s so rarely a deadline! But today I finished the appliqué of the pieces of my elephant; all of the fabrics were designed by Tula Pink, and I used a Moda Grunge for the background. I did the appliqué with a very tiny zigzag stitch, using Aurifil nylon “invisible” thread, which I really like. There may be a bit of delay before I go find some background fabric, but then I’ll begin thinking about the quilting. In the meantime, please excuse those enormous puckers caused by hanging it carelessly!

About Sandy

I’m a retired high school French teacher from Arizona, now living in the Las Vegas area. I loved teaching French, but I love retirement even more! I’m a quilter, and most of what you see here will be about quilting, though I’ve also taken up knitting, and I love to bake. Please leave me a comment if you want to contact me — I’ll get back to you as soon as possible. :)
