Coming down the home stretch

Outer border

I’m *so* disappointed in the majority of the quilting I’ve done on this quilt! That said, I’m pretty pleased with the outer border. I used some of Lisa Calle’s rulers to make the double swag, which enclosed some large feathers. Then I used another of her rulers to do the beadboard on the outside of the swag, mitering at the corners.

Ready for handwork

I’ve added my usual piping (you can’t see it here) and am now doing the handwork on the binding. Once that’s done, I will embroider a label and call it done! I’ll show it when that happens, and you’ll see why I’m so unhappy with the other parts of the quilting. There’s nothing really wrong with the motifs; they just don’t “go with” the quilt the way I’d imagined they would — and I’d even done a paper mock-up, so I guess the difference in scale is part of the problem. Oh well.
