Moon in the Window

IMG_0332That’s the name of my latest finished quilt! It came from a pattern by Elisa’s Backporch, and it’s yet another Drunkard’s Path layout. I began this ages ago, finished the top, and then let it languish while I decided how I wanted to quilt it.

IMG_0337A year or so later, I got back to it. I quilted the feathered quarter-circles and their backgrounds on my Bernina 630 before packing it all up for the Christmas season, when I knew I’d be too busy to continue. I used gold metallic thread for these feathers and cream or black Aurifil 50wt. cotton for the backgrounds.

IMG_0336Right after that is when I bought my new Bernina 780, so I switched gears a bit. The feathered swags in the larger pink areas, as well as the borders (see above), were done on the new machine. All of the pink areas were quilted with a matching Aurifil 50wt. cotton thread.

IMG_0339And here is one of the two central pink sections with the curved cross-hatching and feathers. I also embroidered the label on the new 780, but I didn’t take a photo of that.

Hmmm … this makes *five* Drunkard’s Path quilted projects I’ve done. Maybe I should try for a little variety? 😉
